About PWA

An independent national association

The Portuguese Whisky Association (PWA) is an independent non-profit, non-governmental organisation incorporated in Portugal in 2022. It exists to promote, represent and support Portuguese whisky and the wider non-wine distilling sector in Portugal and internationally.

The Mission

To help establish Portugal as a credible and internationally connected whisky-producing country by representing producers, advancing knowledge, supporting new projects and building the institutional foundations of the sector.

Our Principles

PWA acts in the collective interest of the sector, applies the same public-profile rules to all producers and keeps membership and consultancy decisions procedurally distinct.
